Fluids: Summer Heat Accelerates Breakdown
Every fluid in your vehicle degrades faster in sustained heat. Engine oil loses its viscosity protection. Transmission fluid oxidizes faster. Power steering fluid breaks down and loses its lubricating properties.
The manufacturer service intervals for these fluids were established under average-climate assumptions. In Georgia, the conservative approach is to trend toward the lower end of whatever interval range applies.
